Compilation (in case this merits a category of its own)
Trailer (for Unearthed, Epicon, Requiem for a Tower, and surely soon to be more)

I think most of them are pretty obvious. We can always tweak the list and make corrections if a few get put into the wrong category.

btw - There's already an option for this in Tag&Rename. I would think it's just a matter of re-programming SAM - which puts us back at square one as far as priorities go. Wink

Oh, I have no doubt that the first 90-95% will be easy to categorize.

I would really appreciate this option to discover new music in anime and games. How difficult would it be to reprogram it just for the genres that we have now? The tags just exist, don´t they?. Is there another problem?

I would really like to see this happen. The task would be an easy but it would take a lot of man hours to update over 2600 albums. What might be a quicker solution is to add a dropdown to the Playlist / Requests that lists genres that are not "Soundtrack".

Do you mean in the album correction module? I agree that would be the quickest solution. It would be pretty simle for people to correct if there was a drop-down menu of approved genres. But would Twopop have to approve all the corrections?

Once the mechanism was in place, I would personally commit to categorizing at least 500 albums.

No, I mean in the playlist / requests where you can browse by Artist / Album / Track. I did let Sensei know about having a dropdown for the corrections though too. Mostly because the genres at DFM are less clear-cut.

Unfortunately just submitting album corrections doesn't save much time as Two has to manually update the database and ID3 tags. It's not automated once Two "approves" the change.

Speaking for myself, I don't mind waiting to put the idea into play. There are probably better uses for SST's time right now.

Oh, now I get it. It helped to read Raygi's post. That sounds like a more feasible implementation.

Another potential new soundtrack genre, or categorization:

Unused scores!

Cool

We keep seeing more and more of these releases, like a new 4-disc monster set of unused Bernstein scores from Varese.
