|
Lets say I'm working on something where I can't listen to music at this particular moment for not getting distracted.
But I don't want to miss Track X on the Queue at any costs.
So I would click on the upcoming Track, select "Remind me", type in my email and get a email 3 minutes before the track starts or at the start of the track before.
That would be pretty cool

May not be a bad idea, but how much bandwith would it take up to be sending out these emails? _________________ I do not wake up with thoughts of control and rebellion, but thoughts of purpose and righteousness and the empowerment to fulfill those convictions that define me. |

That would be very cool... sounds like a lot of programming though.
Maybe a future VIP perk?...
Of course, that's easy for me to say, being a VIP and all...
By the way, welcome to the SST Forums, Flitschbirne!

I'm not sure that the...eh....."are eye ay ay" rules will allow that feature. Might be a gray area at best. They're the reason for the hour long minimum queue and the lack of artist name on the queue page.

This gray area leans to pitch black. We are a radio station, not a play on demand station. And with an email system like that it will become one. |

Hrm. Is there a way people could program such reminders for themselves, that wouldn't get you into trouble with the RIAA? Let's say you have a player and stream that tells you the title of the track or the artist. You could, in theory anyway, maybe program the player to recognise this data, and give you a polite ping when the track you want is playing. I don't know how one would program such a thing.
Or, do what I do, which is guess when the track is going to play, and set an alarm on your computer. Or don't, and miss it, which is also something I do... |

I have 2 kitchen timers and an alarm wristwatch going most of the time for this very reason. |

you can program what ever you like. Just as long it does not involve us directly. |
