Hmmm, where can I find our own Top 100 request feature? But yeah! That'd be awesome!

This is an add-on for what LadyInque was saying in her "Request timer" post. I thought it would be cool, as a VIP member feature, to see what other people's Top 100 requests were. Sort of a way to get to know each other better and to see what someone likes. You might hear a nice song and be like "Hmmm, I like this. What else do they like?"

This goes along into the "Favorites List Feature" I might have thought of when I first started here but I believe the response was "if you keep requesting that album or artist, then you won't hear new things." I disagree though. I've found a lot of great music on this site, mainly from other people's requests, and I'd like for a way to see what else I can find. I could be totally alone on this but I'd like to hear what other people think.

The feature is already there for each individual member to see what their requests were, so I don't think it wouldn't need too much more programming to get this fully operational. Take into account of privacy though. Maybe you don't want others to see what you've requested. That's fine too. If there could be a checkbox in your profile that shares this info or not (default should be off). I'm no programmer but this is what I think would make for a great VIP feature. What do you think?

I think such checkbox is obligatory part of this idea.

If this idea is implemented, VIP's should only be able to see the shared request lists of other VIP's in my opinion.
That's because non-VIP's are not able to see their own request list and it seems unfair if VIP's would be able to see it.

Let's just say that I might have an occasional look at such a list if one was available, but I haven't missed such a feature before, and neither am I looking forward to the implementation of one.
I'm not against it, but I'm not for it... *shrugs* Smile

I like the idea, so I voted "Yes"

Last week I started to add it on my own database, so I can see what I have requested so far.

It is still under construction and not all tracks are inserted, but if you want to see my requests, then click on this link.

That's a great idea, socr8s! Smile

Actually, this has been discussed a long time ago (here), and at that time was raised the little privacy issue you mention.

Like you say, a checkbox to make the top 100 public (or not) would solve the problem Wink
