I think these is internet and the globalization time. We live in one world, one for all. The countrys time must finish.
But in the globalization time, we have the problem, than USA is making USA the centre of universe, and in many times, rewrite the history for they must be the most important and the more creating, researching and others.
People think Disney is the most in animation and first in many things, but it is false. Remenber, the first Mickey sonoriced was made with a sound system that was a pirated system.
I think the date must be choose with objetic criteric, is not a recognition of popularity. And it is a oportunity for do the recognition for forgive pioners. |

May I propose a (new) day for that event? I'd go for the International Animation Day which takes place the 28th of October each year.
It's celebrated in many cities here in France, but I sure hope in other countries as well
