Sometimes, we get a lot of gentle, sleepy, kindly...
Ah, who am I fooling?
Some songs are outright boring. As in, 'two more minutes of this and I'm out for the day' boring.
I have nothing against it - indeed, many of my selections can be seen as drug-free sedatives. However, other people with thinner skins may take offense, and I would prefer to have no yawning smiley and more participation, rather than a smiley and have SST people too intimidated to make a selection.
But if most of SST would agree, I'd love to have a yawning smiley that can show the displeasure of the peanut gallery, when things get too soothing.
What do you think? |

I thought that's what the sleeping smiley was for...
I think it's -sleepw- in the clear chat.

I'm like Luther. I always used the -sleepw- smiley. It wouldn't hurt to have more smileys but it isn't totally necessary imho. _________________ I do not wake up with thoughts of control and rebellion, but thoughts of purpose and righteousness and the empowerment to fulfill those convictions that define me. |

I'm fuzzy on exactly what that would accomplish. So the people in chat can say that they're bored? Well, that'll certainly teach the poor slob who requested that track, two hours ago.
This comes as no surprise to those who've been reading my posts, but I find the idea of writing *MUTE* in the chat kinda obnoxious, and a yawn seems to be the same thing. It's snarky, and it can be hurtful. I know we should ask ourselves, "who cares if the peanut gallery thinks it's boring?" But if said peanuts are vocal about it, it might keep people from requesting.
Now, a yawning smiley to express one's lack of sleep last night, or boredom with a dead chat room, that might be less bad. But I don't think it's necessary, especially with a sleepy smiley. |
