LAKESHORE RECORDS TO RELEASE SOUNDTRACK FOR 2007 SUNDANCE FILM FESTIVAL FAVORITE UNDER THE SAME MOON
MUSIC COMPOSED BY GOLDEN GLOBE™ NOMINEE CARLO SILIOTTO
(March 10, 2008- Los Angeles, CA) – Lakeshore Records will release the original motion picture soundtrack for UNDER THE SAME MOON via iTunes on March 11th. The album features original music by Carlo Siliotto (THE PUNISHER, NOMAD: THE WARRIOR).
Carlo Siliotto was born in Rome. He studied guitar and violin and later composition at the Conservatory of Frosinone, under the guidance of Maestro Daniele Paris. He was a founding member of the group "Canzoniere del Lazio", with whom he adapted pop and traditional Italian music. In 1984 he decided to focus his attention to writing film scores. Since then, Carlo has composed music for over 70 films internationally including FLUKE, THE PUNISHER, and NOMAD: THE WARRIOR, for which he earned his first Golden Globe™ nomination. His upcoming projects include THE RAMEN GIRL and THE TREE OF LIFE
UNDER THE SAME MOON tells the parallel stories of nine-year-old Carlitos (Adrían Alonso, THE MASK OF ZORRO) and his mother, Rosario (Kate del Castillo, BORDERTOWN). In the hopes of providing a better life for her son, Rosario works illegally in the U.S. while her mother cares for Carlitos back in Mexico. Unexpected circumstances drive both Rosario and Carlitos to embark on their own journeys in a desperate attempt to reunite. Along the way, mother and son face challenges and obstacles but never lose hope that they will one day be together again. Riggen's film is not only a heartwarming family story; she also offers subtle commentary on the much-debated issue of illegal immigration
UNDER THE SAME MOON (LA MISMA LUNA) also stars Eugenio Derbez (PADRE NUESTRA), Maya Zapata (THE THREE BURIALS OF MELQUIADES ESTRADA), Carmen Salinas, María Rojo and Mario Almada with America Ferrera (UGLY BETTY), and features a cameo appearance by the legendary norteño band Los Tigres del Norte.
Fox Searchlight presents UNDER THE SAME MOON, in theaters on March 21. The Lakeshore Records recording will be available via iTunes on March 11, 2008.

Only Itunes? I checked the samples and it's quite delightful. Siliotto is awesome (as are most Italian composers).
But what about a cd release?  |
