I agree, they would make an excellent addition to the list. _________________ This has been a public service announcement brought to you by the one, the only, Father J. Accept no substitutes. |

I don't want them here. I prefer more instrumental soundtracks. |

I think if there were some tracks that were particularly unique, but like Soul man, while its a neat song, its still essentially a 'pop' song.
While I have requested stuff that has some of the same problems, I'm more than willing to just accept the score parts of those...

Are there ever any score tracks on the Blues Brothers soundtracks?
Also, check out my FAQ. Really. It's helpful.
Just read the whole thing. |

I would have to say that Songs from the movie The Blues Brothers would be a good addition in a limited form. Not the popular music selections but the original stuff that was done for the movie like the theme from Rawhide and such.
Just my 2 cents worth anyway. _________________ A little rudeness and disrespect can elevate a meaningless interaction to a battle of wills and add drama to an otherwise dull day. - Calvin and Hobbes - |

First, I didn't know all ST added were 100% score tracks?
Second, I think adding The Blues Brothers will be a good addition to the playlist. _________________ Sticking feathers up your butt does not make you a chicken. --Fight Club |

It makes me wonder:
Why do we have musicals like Moulin Rouge and Disney musicals like Beauty and the Beast and Lion King on the stream and in the same time we don't want the Blues Brothers on the playlist?
Sounds like a contradiction to me. |

Because the Blues Brothers suck. That's why.
And it's not a musical.. it's two white guys singing covers of classic blues songs.
Moulin Rouge, while doing a few covers here and there, mostly intermixes lyrics from different songs to make new songs that tell the story.
Enough about the stupid Blues Brothers. If it's a couple instrumental tracks from the album then fine, but otherwise, go somewhere else to hear your "Blues".... |

Such anger, such hatred! Hehe. Well, while I must say that I disagree that the Blues Brothers suck, I wouldn't necessarily want them in the playlist. The one thing I like SST for is that it is the one place I can get 'modern' classical, instrumentals, and 'modern opera' (musicals). If I wanted to hear pop music, I'd turn on the radio. While I love the soundtrack to O Brother Where Art Tho, I still wouldn't want to see it on the playlist. That's just my take. So I agree with you, Cocles.

I'm kinda on the fence here. I love the Blues Brothers soundtrack but then again i don't want all that cheesy stuff on this site. I say try it out with only a few selections and then if everyone hates then we can dump it. sound good??? Give peace a chance... _________________ Grab a beer, don't cost nuttin... |

I would like to add my two cents if no one minds...
When I started scanning through the collection I didn't expect to see the Top Gun soundtrack to be listed for the exact reasons this discussion about the Blues Brothers is taking place...
Is it just me or does it seem like that if the Blues Brothers ST shouldn't be posted then neither should Top Gun? There's only one score track on it which is the Top Gun Anthem.
Anyways... just something I would like to point out. _________________ "A witty saying proves nothing." - Voltaire (1694-1778) |
