Earle Hagen passed away this week. Few know his name, but almost everyone knows his work. Entertainment Weekly eulogized him thus:

Just as you said, LadyInque, didn't know the name but knew some of his music. My thoughts are with his family.

My sympathies for his family.
Sadly Alexander Courage, best known for his work on the original STAR TREK-series and as orchestrator for Jerry Goldsmith & John Williams, passed away too at the age of 88.
R.I.P. for both artists!
