Sure, we all know that de facto rules of the SST chat room; avoid going overboard with politics/religion/etc., no swear words, be civil to other chatters and such. But if you've been around a while like veteran Istagi, you grow accustomed to other "unofficial" chat conventions.
For the benefit of the SST community, Istagi's Rules are now available for your reference, with contributions by AkuAku, Phireangel, Lieserl, Victor, ZGurl, Arya, Redjack_Ryan, Techie-Micheal, Cinder. Apologies to vegetarians, Ewoks , anyone with Huggingtons Disease, Canadians, PeteC, and all others. It's all meant in fun and not to be taken very seriously.
SST Chat Rule #1: Do not take yourself too seriously!
Rule #2: Read rule #1... ya got that? Ok lets continue.
Rule #3: If you like your selection, you like your selection that is all that matters.
Rule #4: If you do not like some else's selection and you must say something about it... be funny or creative about it!
Rule #5: If someone blasts your request go back and read rule 3.
Rule #6: There is no rule 6.
Rule #6A: Make a new rule if rule 6 doesn't apply.
Rule #7: Ardilla is evil. Do not trust him.
Rule *8: Do not hold in hand. Place on hard level surface. Light fuse and get away.
Rule #9: Nessysheep is to never be sheared ever... it makes her cry and naked sheep look funny.
Rule #10: "I prepared explosive runes this morning" can only be used once in a 24 hour period.
Rule #11: Phire must never go to bed...this is a rule for Phire to break since she wants one.
Rule #12: Explosive runs can be prepared any time of the day.
Rule #13: All women must torment PeteC at all times.
Rule #14: You will be hugged my Maddy at least once.... I think she has a disease like huggingtons or something.
Rule #15: JERIC is our lord and master. You must worship at his feet.
Rule #16: Put all seat backs into their full upright positions.
Rule #17: Ewoks will likely be roasted and eaten.
Rule #18: If you must bomb the queue with a real bad request at least be good enough to be accountable in the chat room when it goes off.
Rule #19: If you poke fun at FabMartha's advanced age (Levi!!) be prepared to be beaten with her walking cane or attacked by her younger sisters.

Rule #20: Do not under any circumstances ruffle Istagi's feathers.
Rule #21: Cows are food, if they are not food then why did God make them out of meat!
Rule #22: Lies and Nate will spar. Constantly. Try not to get too upset about it.
Rule #23: Cantus has a new child. He will constantly post pictures so just deal with it, ok?
Rule #24: Do not EVER say anything bad about a Conan movie. Ever!
Rule #25: Don't request Bryan Adams...unless you want a "flocking."
Rule #26: It's ok for ZGurl to replace the word "flogging" with "flocking."
Rule #27: If you break rule 25... see rule #2.
Rule #28: If you post music from a Star Trek movie, it is important that you or a fellow SST chatter quote the movie dialogue while the track is playing.
Rule #29: Mind the gap!
Rule #30: If a Star Trek track is playing and you yell in chat that Star Trek has always been better than Star Wars, you will be slapped by any member and called a dumb s*ssy.
Rule #31: When Phire says she's going to sleep...she's lying. She will always come back.
Rule #32: Every studish id*ot who tries to annoy the girls around here, will be joined by the only g*y in the chat (known as Victor's rule).
Rule #33: Rules 11 & 31 are different.
Rule #34: Do not ruffle Istagi's feathers, unless you want to be incinerated.
Rule #35: Blame Canada, Arya, or an escaped goat.
Rule #36: Arya = Lieserl
Rule #36A: Lieserl = Arya
Rule #37: The SST bar must be destroyed at least once per day.
Rule #38: If Lieserl, Arya, Istagi, & Redjack are on, hide.
Rule #39: Speaking of goats, do not let them eat M80's they explode.
Rule #40: Rule 20 & 34 are the same. So important it must be stated twice.
Rule #41: We love schnitzel!
Rule #100: Singing goats scare Techie. They scare him so much, that he lost track of the rule count.
Rule #42: What is the meaning of life?
Rule #43: There shalt be obnoxious 80's robot requests on Friday afternoons.
Rule #44: Or Day-O from Beetlejuice
Rule #44A: There shalt not be obnoxious 80's robot requests on Friday afternoons.
Rule #44B: Conflicting rules will be settled by nuclear devices at 20 paces.
Rule #45: Do not drink the punch.... Levi spit in it.
Rule #46: The guy in the dress has the right to request everything, even Buffy and MR [Moulin Rouge].
Rule #47: Buffy singing requests will result in gnashing of teeth. "Dream Dream" from Sharkboy & Lavagirl will always result in severe beatings for the requester.
Rule #59: Do not stop a puzzle for anything!!! The pieces will fall off! And worse yet, Cinder will lose complete track of the rule numbering scheme.
Rule #48: Country Road (a.k.a. Countwy Woad), although addicting, will also result in beatings for the requester.
Rule #49: Go to bed when your last track is played, unless you must break this rule because you want to hear Victor's Octopussy request.

I may not qualify as a veteran like Istagi, but may I suggest a few more?
Rule 31 should actually be 31A. The real 31 should be:
"When maddy says she's going to lurk, she's lying. She will return, usually before her lurk message disappears."
and
"Intentional typos are acceptable, but unintentional ones should be ridiculed."

Awesome Martha. You touched on all the main rules for playing well with the other kids in chat. A couple rules I might add are:
Rule #38A: No work shall get done when Istagi, Lies, Redjack_Ryan, and Arya are in chat together. Don't even bother trying.
Rule #50: References to "Half Life: Full Life Consequences" are synonymous with an open declaration of photo-link-war.
And yes, Lies, your avatar is ridiculously cute.
