Generally there tends to be some lag between what is showing in the now playing and what is actually playing on the player.
Is there a huge lag between the now playing and your player? If it is just a little lag then it is normal, if it is a lot longer you may just need to restart your player and it should be a lot closer. _________________ "My Logic is Undeniable" - I, Robot |

Hello and welcome Quinn. Let me see if I am hearing you correctly.
You say that the "Now Playing" field shows a different track than what is playing. Is it possible that the music from your winamp player is delayed? That is to say, that it is playing music from earlier in the queue, but the web site has moved on? This, or the reverse (the streaming music being ahead of the website), happens to a lot of people. Usually you get used to it.
If this is not what's happening, then you may have a different problem. Let us know and we'll try to fix it.
BTW, your English is very good. What is your first language?
Oh, and natedogg? Jinx! _________________ I have a book coming out. Wanna see it?

@nattedog
the lag is around a minute sometimes, specially at the short themes(1:30 playtime) "what was this song?now playing XYZ from pirates of the Caribbean....no?" restart the winamp with the 64k medium stream and it works again...
@LadyInque
My first language is german, english starts as secons language in school but after the "allied troops" leave germany in the ´90s the language lost the important point cause: none to talk with^^ No Troops, less Tourists in the city "soory,where can i find [insert place here]? wired situation^^ |

Welcome to SST Quinn!
As far as I know the size of lag depends for example on stream bitrate but also on setting of your player.
You can change settings for streaming plugins in your Winamp player (Options --> Preferences --> Plug-ins --> Input). You can try to play a bit with Streaming Data Buffer and Streaming Prebuffer size to see if that helps.
I believe changing those settings can change your lag a bit (a minute lag looks too much for me) but as Natedogg and Lady already said, some lag is normal and it's something you need to live with
BTW: My knowledge about those Buffer and lag things is limited, but there are many SSTers with bigger experience in this. I'm sure someone can add to my words here. _________________ <i>"The piano keys are black and white,

I have a lag between 10 seconds and a minute, depends on the stream I'm using, so I know your problem.
But as I always have the SST main page opened in my computer, it's easy to find what has been played the minute before. _________________ There is no problem that can't be solve without any solution |
