Everytime the stream gets dropped, Winamp crashes due to in_vorbis.dll and I was wondering if anyone else has this problem (using Win XP). Was loving OGG at first, but this Winamp problem is getting on my nerves. Thanks! |

Found a newer version of in_vorbis.dll (1.35) than mine (1.32) in the Winamp forums. So far so good. Shall see if the crashing has stopped and post back. |

Can we move this out to the main page and maybe stop listening to people on the chat ask how to play the ogg stream. or set up an instruction manual (cocles would you like the honor) that tells them how to get the ogg stream. I get tired of explaining it day after day. _________________ A little rudeness and disrespect can elevate a meaningless interaction to a battle of wills and add drama to an otherwise dull day. - Calvin and Hobbes - |

Tell them to check the forum for the Vorbis 101 thread. That's why it was created. And I'm sure as hell not showing them this thread. If they're too stupid to get Ogg working, you think they'll know how to manually switch out a .dll file? |

But how will they find the forum then with their stupidity? |

My point exactly. It still needs explaining. If we had a link at the home page that said something like "Ogg Vorbis for Dummies" or some other such nonsense then they might not be afraid to click on it. _________________ A little rudeness and disrespect can elevate a meaningless interaction to a battle of wills and add drama to an otherwise dull day. - Calvin and Hobbes - |

The fact is guys and gals, that most of these people don't want to READ how to use Ogg, they want to be TOLD. They're lazy. They're the same schmucks who say, "No! It's too long!" When I refer them to my FAQ. They're not jumping into the chat because they can't find help, they're jumping in and having you all explain it, so they don't have to look up the information themselves.
Maybe later I'll spoon feed them how to use ogg, but for now, screw 'em. Ogg is your reward for actually exploring this site the way Jeric wants you to explore his playlist. |
