I only have about a dozen or so of my own. Plan to get more for work as my "plan B" sometime in the near future. _________________ A little rudeness and disrespect can elevate a meaningless interaction to a battle of wills and add drama to an otherwise dull day. - Calvin and Hobbes - |

I've been slowly figuring that out, but its about 60 I think...
I used to get teased when I was in college, cause I had more soundtracks then I had rock albums!
My logic always was that I can get those at any time, once a soundtrack is gone its incredibly hard to get them!

Yep, they shouldn't... I have some that are not bought, but I wouldn't count them, and generally I use them to play on the pc, or just to get an idea on whether I like it well enough to buy it.

heres the math. for 1 year at a modest (cheap) $15.00 (US) per CD,12oo CDs comes to a whoping $18,000.00 (US). That is one hell of a music budget. I know radio stations that do not spend that much on CD purchases. _________________ A little rudeness and disrespect can elevate a meaningless interaction to a battle of wills and add drama to an otherwise dull day. - Calvin and Hobbes - |

as far as i know....(and i'm not even 50% sure on this)....i think most radio stations don't actually buy any of their music....at least not the ones around where i live....all of the music they have are demo CDs send out by record companies....(again...i'm not even remotely sure on this) |

I have about 600 bought in the last 8 years on CD, though I haven't really bought any this last year because of money.
I tend to do a lot of hunting for second hand / cheap sale cd's. You can turn up the darndest things that way.
I'm UK based but last year I was over in Sanfrancisco and there was this fantastic second hand music shop. It was like being in an aircraft hanger (okay so more a factory) with music of all types around but the Score section was huge. Its great to be able to spend say $100 and get 20 - 25 cds that you want. |
