A discussion with the great John Williams about his score for the movie "E.T." An absolutely amazing interview and it is great to learn more about the collaboration between Spielberg and Williams, especially the part where Williams talks about Spielberg saying to play the music how he felt it was best played and then he would adapt the movie to the music, a very rare thing in moviemaking!

The 26, 27, 28 and 29 of May, John Williams was conducting in Boston with the Boston Pops Orchestra.
I find two reviews of thoses concert on a french website, translated via livesearch. The interest is mostly for the pictures, lots of them, and a few exerpts of the concert.

Here's the link for the 26th may concert

Here's the link for the 28th may concert

A little clip from the Extended Edition of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire talking about Williams influence on the films. (No direct link to the videos but follow the link to Mugglenet and choose either Windows Media or Quicktime)

Little snippets of the TinTin score can be heard on this site.

http://www.cinemamusica.de/1675/John-Williams-Tintin-Tim-Struppi-Einhorn-Unicorn-Score-Music-Filmmusik

Didn't get most of the article, but I love the way they refer to him as " Peter Lord of the Rings Jackson". Cracked me up Smile

Since the soundtrack is already available in Europe, I already have the CD. As I already said in the mini review of visiting the movie, I liked the music but not really impressed as standalone score. In the movie it is great to listen to. it fits very well with the scenes

Though not actually Soundtrack related, John Williams recently recorded a 100th anniversary fanfare for Fenway Park, to premier at their game opener April 13. Neat short video of him conducting it!
