Hi folks!

Can anyone point me in the direction of tunes, soundtracks and similar, which features major saxophone parts such as in the theme from "Mike Hammer" (TV series) and "Romancing the Stone" by Alan Silvestri?

I'm looking forward to exciting suggestions Wink

Hmmm... The only thing that quickly came to my mind is Candy Dulfer's and Dave Stewart's "Lily Was Here".

I'm not very informed about jazz music but scores/STs with jazz could be worth checking out... and somebody else could help out here.
"The Cotton Club" has old jazz tunes.

I googled Brandford Marsalis because he is the saxophonist in the musically talented Marsalis family (and almost the only saxophonist I remember by name Smile ). I found out that Brandford Marsalis played the saxophone in the James Horner's "Sneakers" score.

And also in the 1980s saxophone was frequently used in pop music, so you could check out the 1980s.fm.
Somehow I have a feeling/memory that Tina Turner's "We Don't Need Another Hero" from "Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome" has a sax solo in it or at least a saxophone has a major part in the song.

And I know David Bowie plays a sax and has used it in his music.

I hope this helps a little bit.

Something tells me that there might be something on the Lethal Weapon soundtracks, but I'm not sure.

Music For The Movies Of Clint Eastwood has two nice sax tracks:
#16 - Part 3: This I Remember
#18 - Part 5: Battle Royale (It's All There)

John Williams used the saxophone extensively in his score for Catch Me If You Can.

Both albums are on SST.

The first score that comes in mind is Taxi driver.

I'm sure that there is a piece in Loch Ness whith saxophone, I think number 10.

That's all that come in mind for the moment.

Don't forget The Russia House by Jerry Goldsmith!

I'm also a sax player, but I've nevery really mined the Soundtrack world for material. Good luck!
