Just wish that Amazon wasn't so paranoid and open the MP3 store to users outside the US.. _________________ Regards,

You don't know that it's Amazon that's paranoid. It may have more to do with the record labels. |
Most likely is the labels. But then how does iTunes get around this and Amazon can't?? Sounds like the good old US corporate mentality of " If you live outside the US you don't count".. _________________ Regards,

Thanks Amazon, I wish I could buy it, but Amazon downloads are only available in the USA.
Thank you LadyInque to post it here. _________________ That's the beauty of music. They can't take that away from you. (Andy Dufresne)

Thx LadyI - I was wondering what I was going to spend a $1 credit on - but I think I can stretch to an extra $0.99 for TRON |

Apple on Wednesday issued a formal announcement regarding its expanded iTunes Plus service, which now offers more than two million tracks at the reduced price of just 99 cents.
All iTunes Plus tracks feature DRM-free music with high quality 256 kbps AAC encoding for audio quality which the company claims is "virtually indistinguishable from the original recordings." |

i've read from an audiophile on another forum that the codec itunes is using has the frequency range of lossless file [significantly past the cut off point of what mp3 is capable off retaining] but is compressed with a bit rate of 256. this isn't cd quality but i've been told its better than mp3. i've not bought from there before so i couldn't say cause of course ive not benchmarked it on my speakers. |

I'm not quite joined at the hip to amazon's mp3 store but its pretty close! :p I usually will browse the free stuff and I've found some decent classical stuff there. Nothing really soundtrack related, but its good if you only like a song or two out of an album. Sound quality is crisp and the bitrate in the low 200s is far beyond perceptual transparency for me (meaning it sounds like the cd it came from :p ). Its certainly worth using if you can't find an album or only like a track or two from it. |
