hanz zimmer has been at work composing the score for the big winter videogame, call of duty: modern warfare 2. he'll be taking over harry gregson williams who composed the score for the previous game.

this will be the 1st time zimmer has made music for a videogame.

As a Hans Zimmer fan I should be enchanted but I'm a collector of filmscores not games. So I won't be buying that cd. (I can download it on my pc if it's really good Wink)

It's not that wild an assumption, joyrider. Video games are very different from movies, and the scores are written with different considerations. For example, game scores tend to have very short cues, tied to specific events in the game. Sometimes these repeat a lot. There isn't often a chance for the score to breathe. So not everyone finds game score satisfying, no matter who writes them. Personally, an album of short Zimmer cues might serve as a novelty. As for the quality, well, there's no accounting for taste.
