i haven't done this. i wanted to know from those that do if they offer a lossless option and whether the music comes with the album art and booklet scans / pdf ?

No lossless option from either, yet. 256kbps seems to be the standard encode rate. Album art, yes, almost always included. Booklets - no for the Amazon store, sometimes yes for iTunes; it depends on the album, and often only if you buy the whole album. Hope it helps.
