An interview with Gabriel that talks mostly about his work on his Troy score, but also a little into film composing as a whole, altogether an interesting view at how he works.

Wow, those Amelia clips are gorgeous! Haven't heard much lately of that quality, so this is a must-buy for me. Smile

Thank you for posting the link to that interview, Jaded! I have actually had the pleasure of listening to Yared's rejected score, and I must say it truly is awe-inspiring. It easily would have become a classic.

Horner did a fine enough job with the two or three weeks that he had to compose his score. And some have argued that Horner's score actually matches the film better. If so, then all you can say about Yared's score is that it was too good for that film. Indeed, his score would have given the film a completely different feel: more ancient, more poignant, more Greek!

Anyway, his comments were quite revealing, quite personal, and very interesting to read.

I totally agree with you, Luther.

I think Yared's music is often too inspired for the majority of films we can see.
