I just heard a short excerpt from a soundtrack that I remember from somewhere, but I just can't remember where it comes from. Maybe someone here knows.

It's a strings theme and the melody goes something like B C D C B A G F# E F# G A B A G F#, all notes equally long (around 100-120 per minute).

Does anybody recognize this?

Sounds alot like the second part of the Psycho theme (in the prelude). Bernard Herrmann composed it, but I think it was the great Busta Rhymes who turned it into a hit in 2000. The actual theme in Psycho goes B, C, D, B, C, A, G, F#, F, G, Ab, Bb, C, Ab, G, F

Thanks a lot! That's exactly it.

BTW, I heard a sample of it in Ugress' tune "Trigger 22".
