I'm wondering why the American soundtrack release of Red Cliff was added
I've been listening to the Chinese soundtracks, which are also listed, for months now and saw that this one was added..
However I looked it up at Amazon and listened to all the tracks, the American release is nothing more but a combination of tracks from soundtrack 1 and 2 with a lot of songs missing. Not that I want it removed or anything but I think it is a little strange that it got added since all songs are already here

KarumA, did you notice that the American release was donated by CineMedia Promotions and Silva Screen Records? I think that it would not have been very wise or polite to reject this donation. The record company wants to get exposure to this release and naturally the donation is part of their marketing campaign. It's good for SST to keep these companies happy. This way SST can get donations of other new score releases in the future.
(This is my interpretation of the situation. I'd be happy to be corrected by JERIC et al. if needed. Smile )

But isn't the American release has the exactly same music and tracks of Red Cliff Volume 2 of the Chinese edition, and therefore a redudant album?
If this is the case then it may be better to keep the Chinese volume 1 and the American release, and remove the Chinese volume 2 from the playlist.

Don't worry! You had a very valid question. I was wondering the same thing before I noticed who donated the album. (That information you can find from the Home page and also from the album page.)

I think this will be done eventually. One of the redundant albums will be removed if they are exactly the same.

There is a place to report redundant tracks

http://www.streamingsoundtracks.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=3975&highlight=remove+duplicate

JERIC & cohorts do their best to avoid duplicates when loading the tracks, but they can't know all 70000+ tracks. If you mention it there, they will take a look & remove duplicates.

Sorry for the delayed response. I've been "away".
I will check them out and see what JERIC wants to do.
Thanks for the heads up.
