|
How many times have you requested something, then realized you made a mistake? How many times have you requested something then realized it didn't fit the theme of the day?
What would be nice, is the ability for a user to cancel thier own requests for whatever reason and reset the track back to the state it was at *requestable again*
I've done this far too many times where I clicked on the wrong track then was like arg!
I would love to see this feature, and with 5/15 seemingly here to stay, it might help a little. |

Here's a question, though. How long would you have to cancel a request? I mean, you may have clicked the wrong button o your favorites, but someone may see a track in the queue that he or she is looking forward to hearing, and then be bummed when it was removed.
Maybe what would work better would be a confirmation screen, where you can "cancel" or "confirm" before the req goes into the queue. If you don't click "confirm" within, say, 30 seconds, the request is cancelled automatically. _________________ I have a book coming out. Wanna see it?

Much better option in my opinion. _________________ <i>"The piano keys are black and white,

Oh yea I was going to say somewhere between 2-5 minutes.
A confirmation screen isn't a bad idea, but I don't think making everyone click an extra button is worth it. Though that certainly would be easier to code.
It was just an idea, incase Pesa or any other devs are bored.
A confirmation wouldn't of helped me today, when I requested Endor 1, then realized it was short track day, and wished I could take it back. |

Well, then, Cyber, I think 2-5 minutes is too long, for the disappointment reason I outlined in my previous post.
If you don't like the idea of an extra button, then maybe you could opt out. Otherwise, I just think it sounds like you need to be more careful. We've all made that mistake. _________________ I have a book coming out. Wanna see it?

Haha the day Pesa or any other dev is bored will be received as a joy by them
And for me it is not needed. There is more to taken care of with such a removal with going back to green.
So check if you really want to request that track is a better option. And in your case first look if there is a Theme Day before you request _________________ That's the beauty of music. They can't take that away from you. (Andy Dufresne)

I don't know if this is possible or not. Pesa can work wonders, it seems.
But if not, in a pinch you could PM, email, or YELL AT me (or any other Admin who might be willing to do it) to remove it from the queue. We aren't always able to access SAM (if another Admin is working on the server or there is some heavy-duty processing going on). But in an "emergency", we might be able to switch it out for you. |

It'a "no" for me, because every mistake is an opportunity to hear something new. Sometimes, you'll find gem by clicking the wrong button, sometimes not.
And having the opportunity to cancel request won't help to have more VIPs, imo. _________________ There is no problem that can't be solve without any solution |

I think that having a confirmation button is not a bad idea.
Requesting the "wrong" track is not a problem that I have much, but it can be annoying if it does happen.
Having said that, I wouldn't die of grief if a feature like that never gets added. _________________ "Welcome to the paranoia club; cheapest fees in the universe and membership lasts forever."

When the message box is displayed, the request was sent to SAM already.
Cyber's idea looks useful and Lady's alternative is a very good one (as usual).
I'm putting this in the projects Admin forum. _________________ I think I think, therefore I think I am. (Ambrose Bierce) |

A nice solution Haino, only for me it means an extra click most of the times.
I often skip the add message page and go directly to the queue after I request a song _________________ That's the beauty of music. They can't take that away from you. (Andy Dufresne)

no extra button!
What would work nicely is on the page that displays after you make a request it says "You have requested Soandso track on the SoandSo album" If this was in error click here to cancel, and make another request.
I know its alot of work... just something to enhance the site in the future whenever time permits. |
