Hey, everybody. I'm writing an article right now about the trains here on SST, which I'm hoping I'll be able to publish at some point, though I'm not counting my chickens. I'm writing about the trains as folk objects. I was wondering if those of you who've made trains and posted them to this thread, or are thinking about doing so, would help me out. I promise I will only refer to you, if I do so at all, by nickname. If you'd rather PM me, that works, too.
Basically, I'm looking for an answer to this question: Why do you make trains? What's the appeal? I mean, they're hard to do. What inspires you?
And if you've never made a train, but would like to, why do you want to? And what's holding you back?
Thanks in advance for your help. _________________ I have a book coming out. Wanna see it?

Tinkerbelle's Sean Connery "The Flying Scotsman" train (and GalFin helped a little).
Snipped the image a bit between tracks #7 and #12 because SAM got into the queue. We also had Robin Hood: The Prince of Thieves in the queue, but a lot later, because Michael Kamen was already in the queue (Highlander theme) and had to played first. We also got John Barry and Ennio Morricone into the train twice. And we didn't realize that there are at least five movies with Sean Connery and scores by Jerry Goldsmith in the playlist! (Can you name them?) And even more with John Barry scores, of course (and even one that is not a James Bond score).

Your "Artist train" is awesome, Galfin!! I wish I'd have seen it!!
And thank you so much for posting "the FLying scotsman" train - it was so nice you went on that train, too ...
IT looks even better now than in the real queue - no SAM involved ...
And a "thank you" to Platy - he gave me the idea ...
It was really fun!! _________________ It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.
