I found an interesting article in the Globe today, as I was desperately trying to figure out who to vote for:

Most interesting article. I think the prof was correct--to get into the business, this is probably the easiest stepping stone for new talent. Not a lot of room for film composers and those that are out there are pretty darn good at what they do!

The only video game score I've even really listened to is Kingdom Hearts which basically reuse some Disney material in addition to new stuff. What I really hope that these young composers understand is there are finite amounts of projects out there and it will be hard to get a foot into the composing world.
