|
Hello.. I'm new to the site and find it to be nothing short of great for a moviefan such as myself.. finally a radio station that broadcasts my kind of music!
The only suggestion for improvements I have would be speak during broadcasting in between songs. Such as short news bits about movies/games or facts about the songs. Nothing fancy or professional required.. just something to complete the overall theme of the station and provide a little knowledge along with the music.
I realize this would probably require too many resources.. but I just had to put it out there anyway.
Thanks and keep up the good work! |

Welcome to SST, jesperc20!
Enjoy your stay here
Your suggestion is interesting, but as you say it would require a lot of resources.
We do have a news-feed for movies and soundtracks at the bottom of each page though! |

And we do have interviews with composers that play every once in awhile. They are not requestable, but sometimes they just pop up. I know John Williams and Hans Zimmer are two of them.

Personally, I think that the lack of spoken interruption (aside from Station IDs) is one of the things that's great about SST. If there were spoken information about each track, it would sound like the mood music they play at FYE or other music stores. _________________ I have a book coming out. Wanna see it?

Fear not, there are plenty of vocal tracks and musicals to help break up the flow of the stream.
To find information, the forums are a great place to look or even film score message boards. Plus there are several people in chat that have a pretty good grasp of the film score landscape that you could always ask (i.e. PeteC, etc)

First of welcome to SST jesperc20.
What I like of the stations of 24Seven.FM , where SST is part of, is the lack of speak during broadcasting in between songs.
This way you can listen to the music and doing other stuff (in my case only at home) without the spoken word with some interesting things.
In any case I wish you a lot of joy listening to SST _________________ That's the beauty of music. They can't take that away from you. (Andy Dufresne)

Hi jesperc20! Welcome!
I can imagine that news and facts about music could be interesting, but for me - for different reasons and some of them is what Alchemist, Nate and SiriusCreations already said above - no speak during broadcast is also a good thing at SST.
BTW: I hope you will enjoy your visits here anyway _________________ <i>"The piano keys are black and white,

Thanks for the replies and I do see your point about the pure music-experience. Sometimes I prefer that as well.
Its not that its hard to find info or news about movies, songs or anything, but as a lot of you probably do, I work while listening. Therefore speak would be a good way to get a little extra knowledge to satisfy my thirst.. preferably things I didn't even know I wanted to know
Anyway.. I see your point and its not like I'm gonna stop listening for that reason.. the music is simply too good |
