Over in this thread cocles mentions buying a game because he liked the soundtrack.

http://www.streamingsoundtracks.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=1210

I went the other way, I bought a game, liked the music so much, I went out and bought the orchestral version. I liked the orchestral version so much I saw it performed live at Carrnegie Hall.

The game was Outpost, it had really cheezy midi version of Gustav Holst's The Planets Mars section. The game was actually about Mars so they do get some credit.

Well I researched it. You can extract the music, using the world editor.

So Jeric, buy the damn expansion pack! Very Happy It rules just as the music.

I am now listening to the human choir track Smile

Well I was fascinated by the score to the Wild Arms games, so I went and bought the music to the 3rd game. It is the longest one out in the US and I needed something to listen to while I was at work. Quite entertaining.

I bought WC3 because I heard of it in the chat, Cal, SlowMo and Cocles were always speaking of it. I had been till that moment a AOE/AOK fan but I must say that the music in the WC3 series is definitely better, not to mention the game self, even though I would have never thought in buying the game only for the music.

On the other hand I have the Age of ... Collectors edition with the aditional music CD. That's the only game music CD I have.

I never bought the soundtracks, but I was always impressed with the music to the Medal of Honor games.
