Silva Screen Records Goes Back In Time To Salute Retro TV
(August 12 -- New York, NY) Bold, brash, and overpowering! Like a 70s food menu, this 70s TV Themes album is a bewildering patchwork of flavors that will guarantee giddiness. This digital release features 36 Cult Classics from the era of flares, 8-Track, shrimp cocktails, “music centers” and platform shoes.
From the funky themes that define the era (Charlie’s Angels, The Sweeney, Wonder Woman, Starsky & Hutch) to top samples of 70s song writing (“Suicide is Painless” from M*A*S*H), this comprehensive and diverse music collection features music from sitcoms, detective series, children’s programs, comedy and sci-fi.
The compilation also includes Jerry Goldsmith’s iconic tune for The Waltons, the dramatic horn theme from Dallas, corny Love Boat tune, the upbeat fairground music from The Tales of Unexpected and the “in your face” show tune from The Muppet Show.
