|
Hello,
I have windows Media Player 11 for Win XP installed and before that I installed the Orban aacPlus plug-in.
After rebooting my PC I try to listen from the Low Bandwidth (32kbps) link for the Orban aacPlus plug-in. I get this error message:
"Unable to negotiate with remote server. HE-AAC, Unknown Channel Mode. 0kbps, 0Hz. Orban/Coding Technologies AAC/HE-AACv2 Player Plugin. MP4/3GP AAC/HE-AACv2 Audio File/Stream Decoder 1.1.51"
In the More Options-->Proxy Settings I selected: "Use proxy settings of the Web browser" rather than auto-detect.
I get this error message when I try to listen from the Low Bandwidth (32kbps) link for the Windows Media Player:
"Windows Media Player cannot connect to the server. The server name might not be correct, the server might not be available, or your proxy settings might not be correct."
Can someone please help? I really want to listen. I've been trying to get this working for weeks and am quite frustrated. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Bruce |

You could try some of the other available options if it's offline, such as:
- High bandwidth in stead of low bandwidth. It might not fit in your internet connection, but you can test if your media player is working.
- Streams meant for other media players. Often it's just a common encoding that can be played by any media player.
- Last resort, install another media player. Winamp works fine, and VLC too.
Since you say you've been trying for weeks, it's unlikely that the stream has been offline.
As for those proxy settings, it's probably best to use no proxy at all. Choose the option not to use a proxy (if that's available). Otherwise, make sure that your web browser doesn't use a proxy, since it should get the settings from the web browser.
Good luck! _________________ Music is not just made of sounds. It is also made of silence. |

Hi I just did some research on the Orban site you can see that the Orban/Dolby(Coding Technology) Windows Media Plug-in taken down at Dolby's request.
So if you want to use AAC stream you have to choose another player like winamp or vlc, that still supports these streams.
If you only can use the media player you have to select the wma stream.
We will change the listening page soon. _________________ That's the beauty of music. They can't take that away from you. (Andy Dufresne)

Also, if you need to reinstall the plug-in you can download it from here: http://www.free-codecs.com/download/aac_aacplus_player_plugin.htm _________________ "Are you not entertained? Are you not entertained? Is this not why you are here?." -Maximus
