In any art group or school you'll find these guys. They're a dime a dozen.
They go around saying something like, "Dude, Spielberg and Cameron suck!" ..Hoping that people even dumber than they are will say, "Whoa dude, that guy.. like... said Spielberg sucks! He must know something we don't and therefore be smarter than us. Let's make him our leader!"
Unfortunately this plan sometimes actually works, which is why you'll find pipe smoking, beret wearing film students walking around with a group of freshman following them around.
Then there's the other student who beats up guys like that with a six foot inflatable penis when they won't get out of the editing suites.
But that's a different story.
I guarantee that if you ask Harry_Palmer who he thinks is good he'll list off some composer no one's ever heard of in another desperate attempt to convince everyone he's more worldly and knowledgeable than the rest of us. |

Well, I guess I best vote for my guy James Horner. "The Launch" from Apollo 13 is amazing. Rocketeer soundtrack is sweet too. His music has power behind it while avoiding a weighty feel.
Actually, I would have liked to see Rachel Portman as a choice too. Chocolat - Emma - Nickleby - Cider House Rules - Bagger Vance ... I think she is great. |

Notwithstanding the above, I do think that the best soundtrack of all time is
Hook
and Williams (the popular favorite) completed that worthy work. _________________ For every complex issue in life there is a simple easy to understand and easy to apply wrong answer. |

Same thing goes for normal people who aren't in an art group or school. If they don't understand a film they call it the worst film of all times... Just look at this! Now, I agree Mulholland Dr. was confusing. Heck I still don't understand all of it. And it aint the only film my brain is still trying to work out. What do you think Cocles?

Am I sensing that wearing a beret in any way is negative? _________________ Who is General Failure and why is he reading my disk? |

I think what you're seeing is at least two types of people in that group. You've got just Ma and Pa Kansas who always judge the last movie they went to, as the best/worst film ever.
Then you've got the doofus's who post on IMDB about how TERRIBLE a film is... or how AWESOME... usually terrible because that's a hell of a lot more controversial. They're looking for attention. They want to feel big. And writing bad reviews about some film is what gives them that hard-on.
Smile. Roll your eyes. And realize that this is the extent of what they can do in their pathetic attempts to affect the world.

Unless you're in the Military, or French, indeed it is! |

Sounds like the same doofuses that slam Zimmer or one of those soundtrack review sites out there that hate Bush. _________________ "Are you not entertained? Are you not entertained? Is this not why you are here?." -Maximus
