This has honestly been happening for a long time, but it seems to go through periods when it worsens, and I've just now become annoyed enough to post a topic.

I am running Windows XP with all service packs and IE 8.0. I am also listening with WMP 11.0 in which the 'Now Playing' banner is displayed.

The following error window pops up from time to time, again sometimes more frequently than others:

As you can see, it seems to be a banner ad that is causing the problem. These errors will continue to pop up, seemingly irrespective of whether I click 'Yes' or 'No' to continue running scripts. I am not sure if it is a single offending ad, or several, but the URL displayed in the error message does seem to be slightly different each time, like this next one:

It could also have something to do with my system I suppose.

Anyone else experience this?

Thanks folks!

Mr. Green

I haven't experienced this (though I am also running IE 8 on both XP and Windows 7).
Yet ads are often addressed specifically to you, based on your ip's registered country/area and your profile on the ad sites. Hence I'm getting Dutch commercial banners about online radio's and games.

I'm guessing one of these ads has a script error in them. What you could do, Luther, is to disable script errors from displaying (text is translated from Dutch, so it might be different on your machine):
- Click on the Extra button on the browser's bar (top right).
- Click Internet-options.
- Go to the Advanced tab.
- Under "Viewing webpages" tick the option "Disable error tracking (in Internet Explorer)".
- Restart the browser and see if you still get the messages.

For our administrators, perhaps they could find out what this ad is and possibly block it or have them fix it.

Thanks for your help, Ghostkeeper.

I was able to find an option to "Disable script debugging (in Internet Explorer)" in the Advanced tab of the Internet Options window, but it was already checked, and there was no option to disable error tracking.

I guess if no one else if having this issue, I'll just deal with it.

Thanks.

If anyone else is experiencing this I will block the ad.
