Here is a page with a list of organizations that are providing humanitarian assistance in Japan. Before you donate, please check out any charity or organization. Legitimate ones will have their financial information available so you can see how they spend their money.

Catholic Relief Services is a good one, as is of course UNICEF. I've worked with Red Cross after the Loma Prieta quake in 1989, and they are okay. The field personnel tend to be very good people.

I wish we could all strap on loaders and go clean up the mess, and help the people ourselves. |
