Now, please, this is ONLY for women.
I know men have views of what women
think but I am only interested in the
woman's point of view, here:

"At the core, can men ever be trusted?"

Please answer honestly, based on whatever
criteria represents your view. The important
thing is that it be an honest answer. There
is no correct or incorrect answer.

The results will be presented as a display
in a marriage and children class in 6-days.

Thanks, so much.

Regards,

Pete

I believe so; many people think that all men will cheat, but really they make the choice to do so. And not all of them will do that, so you can't generalize. I think overall it is encouraged for them to protect their freedom by fibbing to their girlfriends/wives about where they're going, etc. People have made it a joke that when you're in a relationship you are chained. Which isn't true. But if you trust your boyfriend/husband, if he is a decent person, would he not live up to that trust?

It's up to the individual. And of course, if a pretty girl walks by, he IS going to notice. Frankly, the women notice too, although for different reasons. It's just when he ogles that it is felt to be rude.

Hope that helps.

I find it interesting, Bruiser, that you interpret the question to refer to men's fidelity (or lack thereof) to their romantic partners. The question isn't that specific. You might ask, can men be trusted as custodians of people's retirement savings, when so many have stolen and embezzled the money of hard-working people, even their own employees? Or, can men be trusted to take the trash out without being asked?

I don't know what the question is asking. Maybe that's the point. I'm not sure how to answer it, as a result.

Interesting points but rather
than discuss it, I am hoping
for the most anonymous
sentiment, at the foundation
of your views and without
representation.

Thanks.

(Please don't take this as an attack. I am just a bit confused about the question. I typed this after Pete's first post, then forgot it for a while... now I see that LadyI is confused, too. If you believe this is too much of a discussion, rather than a request for clarification, then let me know, and I'll delete it.)

This question is so very vague and abstract- I don't have a reference on which to base my opinion. Conversely, you seem to have no obvious basis on which to judge these- how are you objectively going to use this data? There is too much to assume, unless the point of this is to show people how the meaning of things can be interpreted without providing subjects with background information. Are we talking about all men? How could I compare, say, my father, to Charles Manson? The trust levels will vary significantly. Are you talking about white lies, or more serious issues? Are we saying that a lie is a lie, no matter what the intention? I think everyone lies at some point in life, even the most honest of us. It's an unavoidable human liability. Or are you speaking of a sense in which a person is trustworthy and reliable, which does not preclude the trait of never uttering a lie or otherwise acting deceptively? Perhaps I need the definition of 'trust' as meant in this instance, to properly answer this question.

Thanks!

To help Pete:

This poll is not a discusion. It's an investigation how you vote, what comes up the first thing you see the poll? So just vote! You'l hurt nobody, wont step on anyones toos.

If you want to help Pete, vote. And end th edebate on it. Make a new subject and put it on the forum, there you can discus as much as you like. This one is just for research. Got it?

Do not be offended by the questions
in any way. There is no judgment, here.

Your first impression is likely what I am
after. There is no correct answer. It
is a poll. Whatever the results are will
be fine.

The couples in the class want to see
a number of totally random samplings
of different questions and I thought
I would take these.

Thanks, again.

ok, I voted - was it a yes, or a no? Wink

You can be deceived if you trust too much but if you don't trust enough, you will live in torment. A good quote from an anonymous person that stuck with me.
