La-La-Land today announced the release of a 2-disc Independence Day (David Arnold) and a 2-disc The Poseidon Adventure (John Williams). Stuff is available for order at noon PST. Just an FYI. _________________ I have a book coming out. Wanna see it?

A little correction The Poseidon Adventure is not a 2 disc version but the first time that the entire score is presented in stereo.
Ordered both albums of course. _________________ That's the beauty of music. They can't take that away from you. (Andy Dufresne)

Varèse Sarabande has announced their 1,000th album title.
When producer Robert Townsend was at the Film Music Festival in Krakow we all tried to get to know which one it would be. The only answer was "It will be big"
And it is big:
6 CDs ... 1 DVD ... a deluxe 168-page book of
Alex North's Spartacus (Limited Edition of 5000 copies)
It will be shipped begin the week of August 2 _________________ That's the beauty of music. They can't take that away from you. (Andy Dufresne)

Look what I just found and bought, on ebay, a new release from Die Hard
The orignal cost around 200$ because hard too find.
This one was only 38$ _________________ "True friendship is sitting together in silence and feeling like it was the best conversation you've ever had."

Is it even legal to sell it on ebay then?
If it is or not the original one, at least it's the original music
200$ for the original is too expencive anyway _________________ "True friendship is sitting together in silence and feeling like it was the best conversation you've ever had."
Ah, they also sell X-Box-Boxes (just the cardboard box), and magic spells, and simply plain hyperlinks to where you can buy an iPad 4 (you don't get the iPad, but you get a hyperlink to the Apple store).
That goes to show, you have to be very careful when buying things on the internet. And I haven't even spoken of people not delivering the product yet! _________________ Music is not just made of sounds. It is also made of silence.

Since the great concert at the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Centre there has been released a 6 CD-box from the music played.
Check out the website of Varèse Sarabande for details and ordering.
You will support SST with any purchase.
It is a nice collection. Here a youtube video about it

As part of Universal's continuing celebration of Back to the Future's 30th anniversary (in addition to a new home video release and a brief theatrical re-release), there's this exciting bit of information:
"Something else we’ll have to wait for more details on is a new picture disc vinyl soundtrack release for Back to the Future, which will be available on October 16th. We’ll likely get to see the artwork for that as the release gets closer."
I actually hope that it's based off of Intrada's 2009/2010 release of the Alan Silvestri score rather than a reissue of the OST album. While the OST isn't terrible, I could do without the forgettable songs by Eric Clapton and Lindsey Buckingham that are only in the film for 2 seconds anyway. I could also go for an album with more than just 10 tracks.
It'll probably just be the OST, which is fine because the rest of the album is great and memorable. But it would be nice if they'd do something a little more inventive.
Anyway, just thought I'd put this out there for vinyl enthusiasts!
"Celebrating the 30th anniversary of the landmark science fiction blockbuster Total Recall, Quartet Records and Studiocanal bring Jerry Goldsmith’s thrilling score back into print as a 2-CD reissue with newly designed packaging and new cover art by Kyle Lambert"...
