I think Composer of the year goes to the one who wrote more than one good score in the year. While Album of the year could be from a composer who did only one good score _________________ That's the beauty of music. They can't take that away from you. (Andy Dufresne)

For me, I'm picking composers that created scores that I keep listening to over and over again. For me personally, that makes a great composer.

My criteria is that they had a prolific year and did an outstanding job for what the film and director required - whether a light film or dramatic one.
Therefore I second the nomination for Alexadre Desplat who had an amazing 2010 (2 megahits) and 2009.
I love to listen to his music outside the film as well. |
