Folks along the coast do not mind the weather. It is not like California and you go surfing and play all day in the sun and have fun. Oh no.
But we go any time and love it.
Here are three web cams to see at this site. And others for the Oregon coast.

Look Out Astoria!!!
We are at the Lamplighter Motel.
131 W. Marine Drive
All rooms are under my name. I said one couple would be in Sat. night for 2 nights with a dog, and so they even Rachel is bringing her buddy.
Tim and I will be there Friday early. Traffic is a mess here in town so I told him we are leaving before I normally get up each day!!! I have to practice good sleeping hours!
Only ones with less than 3 nights are Rachel and hubby and Twopop and hubby. They are only doing 2 each.
As for getting to the airport, I know you all have taken care of that.
I do not have a cell phone. But Tim does!!! I am a good computer nerd, but not phone nerd!!! I will send you each a note with his number. As I won't publish here, Jim A would call him to buy his boook I am sure!!!
So the ONLY all group thing we WILL do is eat together Sat. night. A prefunction first, then dinner reservations are made. After that, you are wild on the town. There is an open market Friday, Sat. and Sunday you can enjoy. You have your agendas of other things to see and do around the area.

I met Twopop (and Carl), Cinder (and Tim), Jade, Andres and NovaKat in person for the first time today! It's just awesome. And I'm glad Dutchbat and Sirius are also here. Waiting to meet rachelbp tomorrow. It's a special pleasure to be in Astoria this weekend.

The sun is out... it is a great day for a war!!! Everyone but Tim and I went to see the Civil War....again. Big reenactment at Ft. Stevens.. too much fun.
Waiting for check in at 1:00 PM.
We had a wonderful dinner at a fish house.
I got Andres a new recipe for Burnt Cream...will see if he makes it.
Two and hubby are home today, the rest of us are out on Monday.
I am just way too happy to have helped given these fans a good weekend.
Next time... you have to come too.

We had a fabulous time this weekend in Astoria!! Many, many thanks to Cinder for arranging this Gathering. She traveled to Astoria in May to set this all up. She made us all matching SST t-shirts and name buttons, handed out personal gift bags stuffed with gifts plus bread to feed to the seagulls; prepared itineraries; the list just goes on and on and on. A big pat on the back to Cind's fella Tim who also did a lot behind the scenes to make this an unforgettable experience. We loved every minute and can't thank you both enough.
I am still on Cloud 9 getting to meet so many wonderful SSTers in person! It was so hard to have to say good-bye to Andres, Jade, Nova, and that crazy man Dutch  (and missed getting to say bye to awesome Rachelbp and her hubby). Lucky me that Sirius and Mol are coming to stay with us a few days from now. Woohooo!
I have a few photos to post but will do that later. |
