I agree that this is the best suggestion SK has made, and I vote yes because I'm just curious. It's going to be pricey, though, and should not be confused with the cast recording for the musical of the same name.

Judging from the samples, there seems to be too much dialogue and not enough music. So I'm voting "no."

Johnny, where are the samples you mean? I don't see any on this thread, and when I looked at Amazon there weren't any. (If you look under "Formats" there, there are some for the Broadway cast version, but not the film soundtrack.)

At any rate, the movie version appears to be OOP and their Marketplace only lists a used copy at 200 bucks. (Yikes.) Maybe a user has it and would be willing to donate?

Voted maybe. Yes if it's the film score, no if it's the musical version or just an excerpt with dialogues.

I found some audio samples for this soundtrack here:
Young Frankenstein at Soundtrack.net
(*audio player is below the track listing)

From the sound of these, the majority of the album is spoken dialogue of some of the movie's best bits, with a little backing music. Only the first and last tracks (of the main theme) seem to be actual musical pieces. YF is a funny movie, but I'm not sure how well the soundtrack album would fit here if it's more speech than score.

Is there maybe a newer/different release that's more music than talking?

Maybe also from me. This IS a funny movie but all this dialogue is not very tempting really! Just imagine having heard these words not only once or twice but 100 times... not funny anymore I'll tell you!
So the main themes get a YES, the dialogues get a definitive NO. Seems like I agree with dutch for a change Wink
