From Film Score Monthly's homepage:
GREMLINS was one of the top box-office hits of 1984, an inventive horror comedy with memorable puppet creature effects by Chris Walas (who later won the Makeup Oscar for The Fly) and one of the first produced screenplays by future A-list director Chris Columbus. The film was director Joe Dante's biggest box-office hit ever (the superior sequel, Gremlins 2: The New Batch, was unfortunately much less profitable), and for the score he hired his Twilight Zone: The Movie composer Jerry Goldsmith, even giving the maestro a silent cameo in the inventors' convention scene (if you look carefully, you can spot Goldsmith looking right at the camera at one point). Goldsmith went on to score all of Dante's feature films until the composer's death in 2004, and his suitably wild score for the film is an inventive mix of comedy and thrills, with a charming theme for the creature "Gizmo" as well as the rollicking "Gremlins Rag." Film music collectors were understandably incensed by the film's original soundtrack release, a "mini" LP which featured only 15 minutes of score on one side and pop songs on the other. Film Score Monthly's anxiously awaited Gremlins is a two-disc set featuring the complete 62-minute score on Disc One, with such never-before released highlights as the action-packed finale, plus 13 minutes of bonus tracks, with the original LP tracks (both score and songs) on Disc Two. _________________ "You have been chosen to represent Earth in Mortal Kombat. It has been released last week, so I think it will be here in the next update.
Normally we use this forum to request scores that are not here but already released at least prior the last update. _________________ That's the beauty of music. They can't take that away from you. (Andy Dufresne)

Wow, Screen Archives does it again with this gem of a release. This simply must be added to the Playlist.
