Well the order they are standing in the listen menu

2. mp3pro 56k

Well in the same vein, I try to keep my streaming down in size so as to not annoy the IT dept. What are the sizes of the other streams? obviously I can see what the 32k stream is, etc... no need to tell me those!

Unless I am mistaken, and I can be, The rest of the streams are of 32k quality. Someone please correct me if I am wrong. _________________ A little rudeness and disrespect can elevate a meaningless interaction to a battle of wills and add drama to an otherwise dull day. - Calvin and Hobbes - |

My god. An Old-Timer and a regular both being doofus's.
Okay kids, here's what you do...
You look over to the left.
<------------------
Go on... Crank that neck over....
Now you might need to scroll your browser a little, but I'm sure you can manage to find a little section of the left column called, "LISTEN".
Now underneath it you'll find this:
Ogg (64k)
mp3PRO (56k) Live365
mp3PRO (32k)
That top one means that the Ogg stream is 64kps (that how many kilobits of data are transferred every second).
The middle one says 56k... or "Fifty Six Kay". That's the speed of its stream through Live365, which you can see where it says "Live 365"...
Now with what I've shown you in the top two, it's time for a little Quiz. What's the quality of the bottom stream?
.................... Very good! 32k! I knew you could do it! |

The OGG stream is very good for quality, and since it's variable it tends to average around 45-55 kbps or so. The range I've seen from it so far is 22 kbps to 64 kbps, so it's probably a good pick if sound quality versus bandwidth use is a concern. If low bandwidth is the most important to you than go with the 32k MP3Pro stream. |

Not to go on the defensive Cocles but I do believe you are just repeating information here. The question was in reference to the
Audiorealm
Icecast
Im - 390:140
live365 (no stream data specified)
SHOUTcast
links that are BELOW the 3 that you just described. Cal had already HELPFULLY pointed out the obvious in an earlier post and your repeating it in a more condescending tone does NOT help OR answer the question at hand which is:
"What are the sizes of the other streams?"
My answer was in relation to the above mentioned links and not to the links that say:
"Ogg (64k)"
"mp3PRO (56k) live365"
"mp3PRO (32k).
No hard feeling Mr. C., but you are guilty of not reading. _________________ A little rudeness and disrespect can elevate a meaningless interaction to a battle of wills and add drama to an otherwise dull day. - Calvin and Hobbes - |

Indeed I saw where our lovely fist poster wrote:

But then I see GoblinMoon mention the 32K stream... followed by you saying:

So what you're saying is all the streams besides the 32k stream GoblinMoon mentioned are ALSO 32k?
Briliant.
Those other links... AudioRealm, IceCast, etc. are all for giving the STATUS of the streams.
My fault was giving more credit than was due. How was I to know you ding-dongs would actually refer to the Live365 and Audiorealm links as if they were actual streams.
But que sera, serves me right. |

I apologize for not being clear Mr. C. The other services that I referenced are not streams. they are services that you can stream the music through.
Through the chat I also discovered that on Audiorealm if you click for more information. you get a dialoge that shows the stream rates of the services.
I yeld the point that there are only 3 streams coming out of SST and those streams are
Ogg (64k)
mp3PRO (56k) Live365
mp3PRO (32k)
The rest of the links are just alternative methods of playing the above streams.
Hopefully this will clarify the situation. (clear as mud) _________________ A little rudeness and disrespect can elevate a meaningless interaction to a battle of wills and add drama to an otherwise dull day. - Calvin and Hobbes - |

Sheesh I didn't mean to cause any problem, but thank you for the clarification. Yes I was aware of the bit size posted. I did make a comment on that in my post.
Since I had rarely used the other link, I was not aware that they were actually services. So thank you for the explanations all.
