Ai -
Its basically a setting that is put into effect system wide. So its not just you that has to wait the specified period of time, but everyone.
The rationale is that we need to maintain a workable queue of music, not too long and not too short. With the exponential growth of SST, we cant just have everyone requesting music every hour...the queue would grow to an unreasonable length, to where if you DID request something it might be days before you hear it.
Another reason for the increased period, is so that the same people dont load the queue with just their music. This is also managed by the period of time between repeats of songs.
Ultimately, the webmaster, JERIC and I suspect some of the admins, have the authority to change the request time period. You can see this at night and on the weekends, when there are fewer people, this request time goes to 1/60 or even 1/45 occasionally.
For more information, I would refer you to the FAQ. |

What is wrong with shorten a name? I like to be called 'Cal' :-)
It is better than 'Cali', what a lot of people do. |

Yep I saw yer name...I always shorten everyone's name...saves me typing. When you are as bad a typist as I am, the fewer characters you HAVE to type the better. |
