|
Here's the quickest way to get Live365 working for you and your Winamp 2.91 player so you can listen to StreamingSoundtracks.com:
1. In your browser, navigate to http://www.live365.com.
2. Look at the far right side panel. You will see an area to login. It will have Username and Password. Just above that in the grey area it will say "Log in or Sign Up". Click on Sign Up.
3. Go through the sign up process. Note that this requires you to give a REAL email. They will send you an email to respond to, to complete the registration. At this point you will have a name and password.
4. Now go back to the live365.com site and sign in with your new name and password on that right side panel. It will respond just above there in a refresh, saying you are logged in.
5. Now look at the top tabs, just below the blue Live 365.com banner at the top. The second tab says "MyLive65". Click on this tab.
6. At this point your page will refresh and you will see MyLive365 Presets, and a new set of tabs below it.
The third tab over says "Listen Settings". Click this tab.
7. On this screen select your bandwidth (probably 128kbps for most of you), and then click the MP3 Player option (3rd radio button down...it says Sonique, Winamp....).
8. Scroll down on the page, and click the SAVE SETTINGS button.
9. Now at the top, you should see a tab next to MyLive365 titled "Listen". Click this tab.
10. Now you get to find your station. Well you already know the best station. Go to the right panel where the Search area is (not the Browse)...and type SST and click the GO button.
11. This will bring up three stations for some reason, but SST is the second one. Click on the little yellow button with the speaker in it. NOTE...This will open another window on your system and it SHOULD open your Winamp too. You should be able to hear the stream at this point.
12. You can now close everything but your Winamp, and still hear the stream.
13. Now, BOOKMARK this by RIGHT clicking anywhere on the Winamp frame, and you should see an option at the
top that says "Bookmark". When you roll your cursor over the BOOKMARK option, it will open with a few
options....choose ADD CURRENT AS BOOKMARK. It will save a rather long string. Thats ok. From now on you
dont even need to go to Live365 anymore...just click that bookmark and you'll get connected to SST,
Let me know if you have any probs.

That was beautiful man! Two thumbs WAY up for Korster for taking the time to document the process. Now we just have to get the newbies to read it. _________________ A little rudeness and disrespect can elevate a meaningless interaction to a battle of wills and add drama to an otherwise dull day. - Calvin and Hobbes - |

I think Kord deserves a promotion for that one. Not sure if you CAN override the sytem like that but hey, he has my vote. _________________ A little rudeness and disrespect can elevate a meaningless interaction to a battle of wills and add drama to an otherwise dull day. - Calvin and Hobbes - |
