I really like Navras, havent listened to it all but it sounds a little too much like Reloaded to me.

Yes I agree most of the music from the last Matrix movie does sound very similar to Reloaded. Sounds like its been run through some kind of re-mix machine (if such things exist though!) Smile

I watched both Matrix films back to back recently and thought the music for Revolutions was better than reloaded even though it had been remixed, Especially the battle scene score piece Rolling Eyes

I'll agree with that one they should have atleast have several new scores as Revolutions was the final of the Matrix trilogy!

Don Davis hasn't exactly surprised me in his musical ways, and all DVDs I have with him scoring the movie sound pretty much the same. I've also heard some of his other works in here and immediately thought about The Matrix...

Hmm, Suddenly I forgot where I was heading with this post...

I think the bottom line was that I wouldn't expect that much difference from Don Davis. That's why they all sound the same.

I enjoyed Revolutions the best. Spirit of the Universe, Neodammerung and the ending to WHy, Mr. Anderson.

As for Davis as a composer, I actualy think he does have talent, and his compositions do differ, each with their own great ideas. The swirling trumpets/horns motif he did for the matrix trilogy was very nice and unique. His compositions for Behind Enemy lines, most of all the intro and closing were standard in term of presentation but wonderful in melody. He shows more diversity with instruments especialy the piano in "The Unsaid" .. and thats just to name a few.

All I have to say is The Matrix Soundtracks are all great... all of them.

The choices made for almost all the songs were of brilliance.

revolutions is certianly a moving album once you appreciate that its one album with reloaded as its all 1 film.

although it doesnt have "burly brawl" the best action score ever. Smile

tracks like "saw bitch workhorse" and "spirit of the universe" bring a tear to your eye.

i'm new to don davis, although the matrix trilogy score has captured my heart, i dearly hope that matrix was not a fluke, and that he will produce qwuailty music in the future. although, i'm startled that people say his style f music is heard in his other films. hopefully not a sad truth....
