My last name was the title of a book that I'm currently working on. I liked how people kept asking me what it meant, and what the book was about. Then I came to an impasse, when I discovered that I was starting to get tired about talking about it. I had taken on an awful bout of writer's block, and my creativity was at risk of growing stagnant. It was pretty upsetting.
I was living in a condominium on the lake. Normally, when a single young man scores such a pad, he's pretty happy. He is free to invite girls over to his place to play Scrabble, Monopoly, or whatever wholesome activities in which young people partake. But something was just bothering me.
My life, is like a weather phenomenon. People try to rationalize it, but in the end, it really can't be explained. It's not fair that you live somewhere that isn't as warm as it should, but it happens. I look out the window and see the lake. What's The Lake Effect? I'm not completely sure about it either. I just started using it.
That's pretty much it. As for the name before, that's a story for another day. And that story I was writing before? I should get back to that too... _________________ When all else fails, consider time travel.

I finally found your initial post.

schroddie was invented by my friends. They wanted to give me a nickname. Since I'm doing a PhD in Physics, they took "schrod" from Schrodinger who is famous in quantum physics, the "ie" part at the end, because I'm a girl.
I liked it because it kind of sounds like someone from another planet so I kept it. |
Yes, it does seem a bit otherworldly. All you need is a spaceship, and a reason to visit Earth. I suggest "ice cream."

Perhaps both. Though one day I would like the former to take the dominant place of the latter. *crosses fingers!* _________________ When all else fails, consider time travel.

You know those people from the Vegan system? Funny thing; they eat nothing but MEAT. Double Big Macs for them. (I miss the Double Big Mac.) _________________ When all else fails, consider time travel.

Thanks the_lake_effect! She gave you a bit of cat food to thank you. I'll sort it so you have only the vegetables from it... and I'll give the rest to gd
I don't like Big Mac. Cheese and meat don't mix. But I would not mind a Big Mac without cheese!... oh hold on, isn't that just a basic hamburger? By the way, (I completely digress now) does anyone know if Hamburger comes from Hamburg in Germany and if Hamburg means The Town of Ham in German? (I know I have very weird questions on a Wednesday morning...) _________________ Always wondered what a French photo album could look like?

Hello Schroddie!
I don't know if it's true but I've heard that "hamburger" is taken from "hamburger steak" (a dish - hash beef chop - introduced to american kitchen by German imigrants). So your "theory" might be correct _________________ <i>"The piano keys are black and white,
