Cocles I think this whole post comes from the Terry Pratchett series of books. Very funny but sometimes a little too crazy to read.

Yeah, I understand that. At first he's quoting "Discworld", but then he goes on to talk about hermit craps in a way which is inaccurate.

Since this thread is still going, I'll jump in.

j2brown was my first UID on the VAX system when I went to school. (http://www.jmu.edu) With a name like mine, it's hard to find a unique ID, so I've just stuck with that. It's unique enough for me so far.

Interesting tidbid: Searching google for "j2brown" returns my profile page from SST at #1.

Short Answer: It's just a Freakin' Cool Name that I use for all my gaming needs - 1st used at www.achaea.com "Achaea: Dreams of Divine Lands" Watch out!! You can lose yourself in there! I won't be held responsible.

Long Answer *spoiler for my forth-coming, untitled movie (currently no foreseeable release date pending Wink )* : Maeltne is from Irish/Celtic folklore, he was a druid and one of the advisors to the Tuatha Dé Danann. He foresaw the downfall of Bres Mac Elatha and consequently acted as 'judge' at his surrender. The information accepted in exchange for his life and release by King Lugh Lámhfada was the knowledge of the seasons in regard to farming.

My avatar is Cutter from Elfquest; the relationship between the two is slim, I know - think trees, Cutter lived in one, druids worship them (allegedly). They're both near and dear to me, so leave it alone.

Love ya!

When my kids were Disney age ( about 7 years ago ) I guess I rediscovered Tigger as my favorite childhood character. Having kids lets you relive your childhood in a lot of ways. Anyway, around the same time with a fresh trip to DisneyWorld on the brain, I happened to be signing up with AOL for the first time and Tiggerer2 was the variation I went with. Well that's the online handle I've stuck with and I still have Tiggers all around my office.

To me it just sounded like something he would say ..."And Tiggerer Too!"

Compared to all you fine people, I appear to be one of the lazy ones. Since I did not want to bother with a username long ago,
a program at my school gave each student a computer account. I just let the school choose accounts, and at the time, they used a didctionary-based generator to make "memorable" names, followed by a two digit number for HR reasons. Thus, I was
"banansabulmurky87", and I know people who were called "unreadilatstere23", and "sacrimetreectal17".
The names don't mean a thing, but they are all that remain from
memories long ago.

My first nick when I landed on SST was billy (just the first thing that popped in my head). Some guys on the chat where talking about the movie Tron. I never saw it but I remembered it a few weeks later when the movie was on tv. Billy was only temporary. And I'm studying chemistry, I always listen to sst while studying, so (elec)Tron it was.

Here's how I got my nick:

I was born at 0815 AM on March the 11th -
= 08, 15, 03, 11

If 01=A, 02=B, 03=C etc., then this list of numbers results in the word "HOCK".

I googled for "hock", and my browser directed me to the following website:

www.thehock.com

There I've ordered the following badge:

About four weeks later, my badge arrived via airmail.

I wear it every day.

Shocked

So, where did the "s" come from shock? Just to make it into the word?

lol... that is definitely one of the best nickname stories. I'd guess that not too many people have converted their time and date of birth into words.

The badge I was talking about is made of nickel, and I forgot that I have this severe contact allergic dermatitis... As a result, I've developed a huge, blistering type of eczema in the shape of a "V" right on my forehead. It took my some time to realize that this must be some kind of sign, and I've decided to incorporate it into my nickname - but since "vhock" sounded too stupid, I've changed it into an "S".
