I feel songs requested over five minutes long should counts as 2 or more requests from a user.

It doesn't seem fair to request a 2 minutes song then have to wait 3 hours to hear it because there are fifty Philip Glass song requests before it that are over 8 minutes each..(don't get me wrong i like philip glass.)...

Question

What do other people think about this?

First of all Welcome. We have discussed this before... Well sorta...

I actually used to not like the long songs... Some of them that last around a half hour still tick me off just a bit as I feel that they get repetious... But as for songs counting as more than one request that are over five is silly. Half the time you only get one request here per hour, And it doesn't add up if you don't use them. Besides I don't think the programs/software are capable to do this...Most songs here are over 5 minutes, and they are awesome.

But good work with suggestions.

As far as I know, no SAM2 does not currently support this feature. However, if it should in the future I would be fine with making songs of over 10-12 minutes in length worth 2 requests for when we're offering more than one request an hour.

I agree. 5mn songs are too common, but past 10 mn it does get annoying.
*what, only 3 songs and a 36 mn wait ?*

Yeah, good idea imho.

If ever that feature would be in SAM, I'd love to allow 2 picks to everyone, but all songs over 4 or 5 minutes cost 2.

That would allow us to make small picks more often, as those are mostly ignored right now..

I realized after posting this that it had already been discusssed. And yes I understand there are program limitations.

I am glad people have been chimming in with their opinions though. Very Happy

I am just speaking from a purely ideal scenario..

I am just thankful I can make requests at all.
and that it isn't a pre-programmed listing. Very Happy

I prefer each track being one request, no matter how long it is. As others have mentioned, I too am glad this website even exists. It just kicks ass.

One of the major draws of this site over the other soundtrack sites is the real-time request feature. Absolutely awesome. Sometimes I use it to request my favorite cues and other times I use it to sample what's out there. I say don't mess with the format. By and large, the super long cues aren't requested that often.
