I know I can't be the only one with this problem
-------------- Start Rant -------------------
Ok so CD's are supposed to last a really long time, if you read the packaging it says "if properly cared for your compact disc should provide a lifetime of listening pleasure"
So why do they put them in the cheeziest thinest grade plastic that is so britle it breaks if it impacts any slightly hard surface from any height greater than 2.54cm?
Then they take this brittle material shrink wrap it so tightly it's impossible to rip/tear/chew open without breaking the aformentioned britle casing material!
Is this a plot by CD case manufacturers to get us to keep buying aftermarket cases?
--------------- end rant --------------------- |

I think it's a conspiracy to bring communism back.
Explanation:
1. People spend money on CD
2. CD comes in cheap container and breaks
3. People spend more money on new cd
4. Number 2 in repeated
5. Lower and middle class run out of money and
upper class has it all - capitalism dies.
6. Nation cries out for new gov't.
7. Conspirators propose new gov't of communism where
the gov't controls the CD packaging so it can
assure consumer satisfaction.
8. America becomes communist
I know it's a bit shaky, but i should get points for pulling it off. _________________ "When you look into the eyes of a wolf you see into your soul. Hope you like what you see..." Aldo Leopold |

Scrape the edge of the cd along the edge of a glass table or anything else with an edge that's a sharp right angle. |

*assuming you have a moderately long fingernail...*
run your fingernail along the end of the CD case right where the case closes... _________________

If you're in your car then just use your keys, dingnut.
Even if you drive something that uses a new infra-red key, or proximity chip, you should still have your house keys on you. |

I'm not saying it's impossible just more difficult than it should be, and those cases are WAY to brittle. |
