For those that haven't heard, in an interview back in November, Howard Shore said:
-That there will be a boxed set of the ENTIRE score of all three movies released, probably including the music from the special editions. (He wonders if people would really want 'all that music'!) He said that this could easily be 7-9 CDs or even more. Recording of the spec. ed. music for ROTK is to happen in March.
-He is just wrapping up work on a Symphony worked out from the music from the movies. 6 movements, two from each movie. He will be performing this work, at some 2 hours, through out this year.
-There are plans for a 'rarities' release consisting of music which was written and recording during the evolution of the movies but which never found its way into the films themselves.
-Oh and I forgot to mention that there is going to be a whole book on the music for the movies with in depth discussion of rationale, instrumentation, themes, cultures, etc. |

I'm still in the "deciding wether or not I will go" phase. I do not want to go alone, so I have to find a friend to go with me...
