hi folks
... sorry, the subject is a little aside. but with the explanation ...

is it possible, to install a shoutcast-server on my home-router and use this to stream the music from trinity, or other streamingsoudtrackservers in my local network?
- are the servers of streamingsoundtracks acting as a relay-server?

just trying a littel, but is'nt working yet.

thanks in advance

You might find more help in the Winamp forums about this. I'm sure that question has been asked before there.

Just off the top of my head, I think it is possible. Some thing to configure in your SC_SERV.INI should be...

Code:
MaxUser=100

That would allow 100 connections to your server.

Quote:
PortBase=8000

Choose a port that isn't blocked by the firewall, like port 80.

Code:
; RelayPort=8944
; RelayServer=64.62.252.140

Take away the preceding ; otherwise it will be ignored. Port 8944 is for the 64k stream, the IP is mediacast1. If you get it to work let me know what your IP is so I can reserve it so you don't get bumped off when the server is full.

Code:
PublicServer=default

Change that to never so your server doesn't cluster on SHOUTcast with the rest of the streams.

Code:
AllowPublicRelay=Yes

Change this to No too.

Well this is my best guess. I never set up a private LAN SHOUTcast server before but this should get you started. Check the Winamp forums too.

Thanks.

oh wow! big thanks to you, jeric!

at the moment it's not running properly, but the problem is my config, i guess. i'll try to figure out, what's wrong. if it run's, i'll inform you.
it's already good to know, that the server acts as an relay-server.

over again, thanks!
