Nullsoft has now released Winamp 5.02... Smile

Download Winamp 5.02 - Full
Download Winamp 5.02 - Lite

And just a little side note, Justin Frankel, Winamp's main developer and inventor has quit AOL/Nullsoft, he is no longer working on Winamp.

RollingStone wrote:

I can't remember or find if this question has already been answered so please bare with me. Does Winamp5 support MP3Pro? can you add it just the same way you did in winamp2.9? Thanks boys/girls!

Winamp 5.02 does not support mp3PRO by default. You install the THOMSOM mp3PRO plugin just like you did in Winamp 2.xx.

Yes I think it's worth updating. There are lots of 2.xx bug fixes in Winamp 5.02 and many new features and supported formats. If you don't like the new modern skins, you can switch to classic mode and it will be just like Winamp 2.xx

But if you aren't interested in the new features, then Winamp 2.xx is just fine. Smile

You can download all the previous versions of Winamp here:

Just wondering if you could help out. I upgraded from 5.01 to 5.02, and then installed the mp3-PRO encoder. Now, in the playlist editor, the name of the track that's being played does not show up. All that shows is StreamingSoundtracks.com. It seems even without the mp3-Pro encoder it doesn't work.

Any suggestions?

Thanks JERIC, I tried that - it didn't work. I'll give it another try when I get home.

Remember to restart Winamp when you have checked "Enable SHOUT-/ICE-Cast Title Streaming" in the THOMSON mp3PRO Decoder.

Also there are no track titles when you are listening through Live365.

Gotcha! And, this is all through Winamp, not Live365. Thanks.

Robert you can listen to Live365 through Winamp. Try reading the FAQ's instead of skimming them.

And then I just want to mention that winamp.com has been down for several days, because it was hacked, again!
