Band of Brothers is with Saving Private Ryan (some of) the best war movies I've ever watched. I think there should be something simular about the battles in the Pacific. I know, to have something like BoB, you need "first hand intel" of the things that happend. But there have to be some veterans left?? The / A problem is that the great "father" of BoB, Steven E. Ambrose, is no longer with us.
I hope there will be more in the spirit of Steven Ambrose and Band of Brothers. |

What I forgot was the fact the creator of the wonderful music which has great influence on the atmosphere of the movie, Micheal Kamen, also has pased away. Still, these al being very sad things, don't take away the fact that there should be more of what they made (see previous message). |

For music inspired by the Pacific Theatre of WWII, try looking up Richard Rogers "Victory at Sea" probably some of the most stirring and enotional music written for that genre. Victory at Sea, at that time, was what Band of Brothers is now to Europe. If you are lucky to get some tapes of the original series, even the better! |

Actually, they're making a sequel to BoB. Can't exactly call it a 'sequel' since it doesn't include the same people, but it's "a 10-part mini-series from the creators of 'Band of Brothers' telling stories of America's battle with the Japanese in the Pacific during World War II."

i love war movies and the music in them. especially the action cues like in Crimson Tide, and the Hunt for Red October.Tom calncy movies are awesome too.
i'm kinda rambling. Exam time nears and the brain fries. _________________ Calvin:What's this music?

There's something haunting about war soundtracks that use choral arrangements: Glory, Saving Private Ryan, Medal of Honour. Not to mention a good olf English horn played in the background. Stirring stuff. |
