Listen, the point here is people want high quality, low upload stream music. MP3pro does that. Personally I like (out of many others I've tried) MP3 and MP3pro because it works best with Winamp (I use this just because I find it to be best out of many others) which is what most of us use.
So I'll just offer this advise to those who don't thinks so.
Conform like the rest of the world does!
Or deal with your stubburn beliefs. |

I'm surpised that there were so few listeners to the OGG streams. I only discovered SST shortly before you dropped the OGG streams. While they were there I listened to them, although I suspect this would have been in the period between looking at the usage and deciding to drop the stream. My memory may be playing tricks on me, but I don't think the OGG stream was highly differentiated from the other streams. Wasn't it just another tiny icon next to three other tiny icons?
I lot of people, even when given the option of several formats, will generally just use the one that they don't need to bother installing any plugins for. The natively supported formats under Windows Media Player will nearly always dominate any usage distribution.
What are the costs to SST of using each of the stream formats? Forgetting the 80 free streams for now.
I see from the Poll that, as I write this nearly sixty people have voted for the 100% OGG option. So I would hope that this might be enough to prompt a return of at least some OGG streams. Please? _________________ Paul Campbell |

It's not gonna happen any time soon.
And even if it currently has about 60 votes on the poll, it's still in a distant Third place. |

So, Jeric and Cocles...
What do you think about this? What would you like to see and would be most effective for us? _________________ All in the world recognize the

Shoutcast stopped listing streams that had "mp3PRO" in their title. At this point they haven't done much else.
If it does come to them banning mp3PRO stations, we'll make our decision then.
In other words, at this point, we'll cross that bridge when we get to it. |
