As you can see from my heading, there is a possible new Transformers movie slated in the next couple of years (source: Yahoo! movies). As it was said, it is possibly going to be both live action and CGI. Oh how awesome would that be. It is still way in pre-production. Heck, it is still in talks...who is going to write it, star in it, who is going to finance the project, etc. etc.

But the reason for this post is this: My favorite ST of all time by far is the Transformers: The Movie ST. The music hits you on a grand scale especially the death of Optimus Prime. Who do you think should do the next songs and scores for this movie?

You see, I think Jan Hammer should do it. He is very much into digital composing and I have always been a great fan of his. Also music by bands such as Creed, Evanescence, and/or bands that would give you some sort of emotional impact such as the ones in the original.

Tell me, what do you think?

This rumor has actually been around for years...

If you like the transformers soundtrack, I suggest you take a look at "Til All Are One" in our playlist...

Is the tub of butter for the cornflakes, or for you to sit in while you eat them?

Either way, I'm intrigued....

Vince DiCola is pushing to do the music for the movie too. FYI

Thanks for the heads up! It is quite comforting to know that he is coming back to do it again.

It would be great to get a new transformers movie. I just hope they don't re-hash old storylines. For example no more Unicron, they re-introduced him in Armada and that is enough. We need more killing off of old timers like in generation one. I am all for new characters but there has to be the old base still as well.

If they can stick to many of the old characters they won't alienate the old fans.

For the soundtrack, how about the Pixies. they are reunited this year Smile

Maybe just for a song or two like Fight Club, but not the score. Maybe a song or two from Billy Corgan would be good. He has done work with soundtracks and synthesizers. DiCola would be awesome again.

Yeah I wasn't very serious about the Pixies. They are just my favorite band and I am starved and need to hear new stuff from them. Razz

Out of curiosity... how does Thomas Newman as the composer for new Transformers movie sound?
